Open Question: What are my options for college?
So this Fall Semester I was placed on Academic Probation. I still didn't do too well due to an incident with another student. I ended up trying to see counseling because I was so messed up in the head. But I only passed 1 out of 4 classes. I know that I will definitely be put out of that University so I enrolled in a community college. I took out a Subsidized loan and an Unsubsidized loan this past fall semester. So will it apply to the spring semester at the community college or will I have to pay out of my pocket? If this helps, my lender is Sallie Mae. If I have to pay out of my pocket, what are other options to avoid paying the loans back because I know it's a 6 month grace period and then the payments kick in. Also, do you guys think it's possible (I'm asking because I've never heard of it) to appeal grades due to the incident I had this semester? Any opinions would help and Thanks to you all! :)well kemperk, yeah it may seem like something small but it's alot and I'm not just saying it was an "incident" to try to blame it on someone either. moreOpen Question: My future hubby and the suit...advice please!!!?
Hi all, I am very in love with my fiance and we are planning to get married soon. Here's the problem, recently he told me that he wants a suit...originally, I was fine with that until he told me how much it was. The suit is 300 dollars, and there is no way I can afford it. He just graduated from law school and is searching for work; however, I am still in college and won't be graduating until May. I'm not working full time, and I am just not in a position to buy him this suit. You'd think he would understand, but when I told him, he literally gave me the silent treatment. He says that he told me in enough time what he wanted, that I broke his heart, and that he is very disappointed...literally, this is exactly what he told me. I know it seems silly to get so worked up over a suit, but he is. Now he won't even talk to me...when I left his house the other morning he wouldn't even say goodbye. I'm so confused. And this isn't even just about the suit...this is how he always gets about this type of stuff. Now i'm considering taking out a payday loan so that I can get the money to go ahead and buy him the suit, and just pay it back on my next payday. I'm just so confused, and I really cannot afford to pay that much out of my paycheck right now just for a suit, but I don't know what else to do. He's being unreasonable. What else can I do? Do any of you have any ideas of what I can get him or where I can go to get him a nice name brand suit that won't break the bank? Wives, what do you get your husbands around Christmas if what they want may be too expensive? I know we aren't married yet, but I don't know who else to ask... Any advice would be appreciated! I've been so worried this past week about how i'm going to afford this. :-/ moreOpen Question: I have never worked at a bank and now I want to be a loan officer.?
When I went to college, I had no idea what I wanted to be. So I graduated with a BA in communication studies. Now, I have no skills. I have been working at mostly customer relate jobs. I want to be a loan officer or something to do with finance in the future. I am thinking about going back to community college and take some classes to prepare myself since I do not have any banking experiences. What kind of class do you recommend? moreOpen Question: What type of job can I get at a bank?
I graduated with a BA in communication studies. I still regret so much about what I studies. It is not that useful. I am now interested in working at a bank and eventually dealing with loans. What kind of job can I get as a college graduate at a bank? How can I get a career at a bank? moreOpen Question: Why americans don't save, is it their own faults?
Most of my family and friends are blue collar, not college educated, so we are for the most part, lower class. I'm finishing college now and currently work as a engineering technician, making 25,000 a year. My only bills now are rent which is 700, water and gas which is 60, internet and cell phone 90, food budget 200, and transit pass $100. Whatever money is left I put a balance between entertainment and savings accounts. I don't buy what I don't need however I'm very comfortable, I have a couple nice guitars and equipment, i go out to eat every once in a while, basically i'm happy at 23 years old. I always manage to put money in my savings account and after putting a little bit in the bank every week I managed to save $20,000 over the past 3 years. I don't make much however, I'm very comfortable. I know as I get older bills will get higher, I know i'll buy a house one day, a car payment, insurance, student loans etc however I know my income will rise. Should I expect over the next years for less percentage of my pay check going to savings and entertainment or am I doing something most americans aren't doing. Like I know a lot of people spend spend spend, but how can the average american save nothing? Saving 25% after taxes is no sweat and would like to continue this as time goes on.If you are in your 30's and middle class (not a huge income) please let me know how you are doing. All I know is my family and friends that have NOTHING in their bank accounts and stress when bills come. I want to save and have a good life and be able to buy me some toys without a credit card and have a helfty savings to invest with as it grows. moreOpen Question: Wondering if my student loan statements will get me more money back on my tax return?
I have been attending college since March of 2007. I was wondering if my student loan statements will get me more money back on my taxes or will I end up having to pay because of these loans? Im totally confused and not sure what I am supposed to do. moreOpen Question: Will finding her long lost dad and getting him to pay back child support affect her Financial Aid?
ok my best friend and I have this argument She doesn't even have a father named on her birth certificate but the family pretty much knows which guys (just 2) her mother had been around could be the father..... her mother died last march ..she lived with her blood aunt and the aunt's husband from the time she was about 6 years old... her blood aunt died about three years ago and the aunts husband and his new wife took care of her till she graduated in may..... Her father HAS NEVER BEEN AROUND BUT her college financial aid is centered around her being an orpahan she is struggling to survive on a part time job an attending her freshman year...with her grades she could only get into a two year so she is more worried about surviving more than college hitting up her dad for bachild support could help her out ..since she doesn't even make enough for rent..and has to wait months before she receiveieve student loans! Question: if she hits him up for back child support will this affect her financial aid at all? My thought is that since he's never been around and she isnt making enough to even cover many living expences that she would be able to keep the financial aid??? moreOpen Question: Should I sell my car or keep it?
I have a 2007 Nissan Versa which has low mileage and factory warranty still on it...it is currently being financed (the loan amount is $14538) I got a pretty decent interest rate but now I kind of want an older without any car payments. Im currently a college student with decent credit (lowest score is 690 and highest is 700) i only have $500 in credit card debit...but I still have to pay for books, food, and a $500 balance for school. It's a cool car but I really would like to build up my savings even more. According to Vehix.com the retail value of the car is $14,850. What should I do...I dont really know anything about selling cars let alone if I could sell a financed car. The only reason why I purchased the car was due to the fact that I'm the only driver in my household and my school is a 2 hour drive away...and I have no one to take me back and forth. moreOpen Question: im in the military i need a car loan for 18000 i can afford it but no one will give me a loan.. ?
any idea where i can get a military loan for people with bad credit (college that i owe) but dont have to pay yet any ideas positive answers only please moreOpen Question: Options? (College not going so well)?
I'm finishing up my 3rd year of college, and I'm stressed beyond belief. I'm currently married, so I'm having to work a full-time job to pay the bills, and I'm also trying to attend school, but it gets complicated, and despite doing good on all my tests, many classes I've failed because of attendance, which is unavoidable due to my job (my gpa has now slipped to a 2.1). My question is, what do I do? If I quite my job, I loose my income and health insurance, both very important. If I quite school I'm never going to be able to survive in the work force. My gpa is too low for financial aids or student loans, so I feel like I'm trapped!!! What should I do? Any suggestions are worthwhile!!! Does anyone know if there is a way to get subsidized loans other than FAFSA? (I only make $30,000 a year, but for some reason I don't qualify for a subsidized loan) moreOpen Question: Can a 19 year old without any credit history get a LOAN to buy a car?
I am currently in college and I don't have a job. I have never owned a credit card, but I'm wondering if the bank will allow me to get a Loan to buy a used car. moreResolved Question: my loans for college have already gone through I need a grant for living expenses. what can I do?
I have a little girl and I need to help take care of her needs to with my husband. moreOpen Question: How can I get my parents to loosen up....?
Okay, I could go on for hours here, but I'll give you a short version (somewhat short anyways). Here we go: I'm a 16 year old girl. I have a job. Before I had a job, I would babysit all the time for relatives, so I could earn money. I almost enough for a car, but my parents borrowed it all, and I still haven't got it back. They never practice driving with me, so I have no license and no car. So, I am dependent on them for transportation. I only go to work and school. When I go to a friend's, sometimes they drive, sometimes I get a ride. They act like it is an inconvenience to take me anywhere, but I have no other option because of them. I am a good kid, great grades, no drinking, drugs, etc. They still don't trust me. They check up on me all the time, won't let me stay out, etc. They interrogated the last guy friend I had drive me to my house, while I ran in the house for a minute when I specifically asked if they could just not talk to him. They have control of my bank account, so I need them to take out money. The only money I take out is to loan to them or my brothers (I am owed a few thousand). So, why should they have control? They ask questions about every little detail about everything, yet I am expected to lend them money, do my older brother's college work, etc. Expected, not asked. I have been owed money for a year and a half now, but when I bring it up nicely (only because I desperately want a car), they freak out. My brothers never got restricted the way I do, and they were trouble kids (drinking, drugs, runaway, probation, etc). I can't do a damn thing that my parents aren't in control of. Its always been this way. My dad didn't want me to get my ears pierced until I was 21 years old (control freak?) And now, here's the best part. I got off work at a little after 9 today. I didn't call right away and it was about 10pm when my mom arrived. Well, I got completely flipped out on for not calling the second I got off (I ate food and talked to a couple coworkers because I wasn't supposed to be off until about 10pm). And I said the reason was because I didn't feel like being at home (just wanted to do something fun for an hour). But, sometimes I have to wait like 2 hours for a ride, and they don't even give a reason. So now, they are threatening to make me quit work. Why? They have no college fund for me, so I need this job to have any money, even for a community college. I try to talk about it. They won't listen, literally tell me to listen to them and not speak. They say (literally) "We've done nothing wrong." or "Listen little girl, get over yourself, you're wrong." What can I do? I know they love me and want to protect me, but this control-freak, overprotective stuff is too much. They should be happy I'm not a rebel and back off a little bit. I really want to move out the minute I turn 18 at this point. The whole point is that I realize they love me, but I need them to loosen up a little bit. They depend on me for a lot and expect a lot out of me, but can't give me privileges and freedom at all in exchange for this responsibility. I need to get something to change so I don't end up resenting them completely. moreOpen Question: Student Loans in Michigan?
Besides FASFA, Is there any reliable Student Loan groups or Companies I can go through for college? moreOpen Question: Should I be mad at my boyfriend?
After a long week at the office, I finally get to the weekend looking forward to it, and then I get a phone call from my boyfriend Saturday morning saying that he quit work because the manager made a comment how he wasn't good at multi-tasking... he also said he wasn't happy there and lots of people who knew left, but usually that us the nature of working in retail. I know I should be understanding, but worse things can happen and the fact that we are in a recession means that any job is better than no job at this point. I've known him for about a year and although he is the most caring, sweetest man I know, I haven't sensed any strong plans about his future. He is basically forcing himself to college and keeps dropping classes and hasn't gone back for the last two semesters and he keeps telling me he is just saving up money to pay tuition because he doesn't want to get loans. He has always worked in retail, and at this particular job I am surprised that they hadn't already fired him because he comes in an 1hr late at least every other week (because he probably stays up late playing video games... which is something else he said he would cut back on, but to no avail). Everytime I question him lately, all he tells me is "have faith in me", but I believe actions speak louder than words and a whole year with seeing little progress worries me. Do you think he will snap out of this? Is there anything I can do or say to help turn him around? I really don't know what to say or do now mostly because I have alot on my own plate without having to worry about him as well and don't want to blow this out of proportion. Any words of advice would be greatly appreciated! moreOpen Question: Should I go to Baruch or Pace?
currently an accounting major. I want to double in Finance. I'm in KCC(community college) right now with a 3.2 GPA. I have one more semester left and I think I could bump that up to a 3.4. Could I get into Pace? if Pace is the better school and I get in it's 5 times more expensive than Baruch. it's $20,000 a semester while Baruch is 4g, how can I pay it? student loans? moreOpen Question: Can full-time college students get social aid like food stamps, section 8 apartment, medical insurance, etc?
I've never had any social aid or knew anyone who received them, but I do know of certain terms likes welfare, section 8 housing, and food stamps. Are these social programs available to full-time college students? I am trying to find out what kind I help and aid I can receive while going to school to complete my degree. I have already considered taking out student loans as well as working, but I don't know what other forms of aid or assistance there are. Can anyone help me find a list of all the things I can apply to please? moreOpen Question: partner problems lonely wants to move to australia?

So I went to community college when I was 18 and 19 years old, I withdrew and failed every class I took because I had a lot of things going on in my life. My parents did not want me to get student loans at the time because they did not want me to be in debt. So basicly I have a 0.0 GPA and I have taken a S-h-i-t load of classes but ended up dropping or failing out of them because I couldn't afford the commute to school. At the time gas prices were around 3 dollars a gallon and I found it really hard trying to make a decent living while taking classes full time. My girlfriend really wants me to go back to school and she is willing to help me (shes 19 and has a 4 year degree). I am 21 and want to go back to school but I am very discouraged because of how poorly I did. I was just wondering if I should apply to a different community college and start over, or would I have to transfer my transcript to the new school. Also, could I get my high school transcript (which is no where near as bad) and just give that to another school and act like I never went to college to begin with? moreOpen Question: How does Bush/Obama want employees to take pay cuts, yet wants to raise payroll taxes? Is this not the same th?
for example, not only do General Motors and Chrysler have to cut pay to workers, but they also must lay off at least so many workers as part of the $17 billion loan issued by Bush yesterday. At the same time, however, I am hearing that Obama may create an increased payroll tax in order to have money for his trillion dollar stimulus package. So exactly how many more cuts/deductions is the government going to take from civilians? I mean I graduated college in May and can't even get a job, but if this is the way things are going then I am sure it is not much of a comfort to those of you who are lucky enough to be employed. moreOpen Question: Does taking out student loans intimidate you?
I really do feel intimidated about taking out student loans...what if school does work out for me? I have friends who are extremely low-income and they have a free ride for college since financial-aid pays for their tuition fully I already attend community college and I'm about to max out on the amount of credit hours I can transfer so off to a University I go... moreOpen Question: STUDYING ABROAD... HELP!!!?
I am 17 years old and in high school I REALLY want 2 study abroad. I live in Pennsylvania and plan on going 2 college in flordia. I don't know the first place 2 start looking for this whole studying abroad thing. Do I sign up for it somewhere? Do you go through your college? Do all colleges have this studying abroad program? If not which ones in Flordia do? Do you get 2 pick where you study? What are the requirements? And what about the whole financial thing? I don't want 2 have 2 take out a loan. If Studying abroad means I don't do to Flordia then I won't go to Flordia...Thanks and help!!!, JJ moreOpen Question: If my parents got remarried, will this affect my financial aid?
My parents got remarried this past summer and I took to winter semester off from school to go overseas. Well now for January I am starting school at the Art Institute. In the past I've always recieved very nice refund checks and used those to get by. I ask because between being a full time student + keeping my grades up, being a religious leader in our community, helping out at home, running erands etc. I really don't have time to get a part time job. I've tried before and my family worried that I was asking too much of myself. So I wanted to use my January refund check again to pay bills until the summer time. My mother doesn't work. My father's annual salary is about 28,000. We all live together. I also applied for the full grant that is given to students who need it based on their financial situation. Along with FAFSA, sallie mae stafford loan and college opportunity fund (that gives all students in colorado 2000 that they don't have to pay back.)I would just like to clarify that I enjoy being a religious leader and staying dedicated to the activities, just like staying dedicated to my studies. My religion is important to me, just as it is to most people, so please don't ask me to give it up. =) moreOpen Question: Which do I pick, subsidized or unsubsidized for stafford loan?
I don't want this loan for the rest of the years I spend in college. I just want it to pay off the rest of my current semester. If I just want a certain amount do I pick unsubsidized then? I know subsidized means government pays interest and unsubsidized means you pay it, but I assume subsidized means they pay the whole thing and unsubsidized means you pick an amount? By the way, I am eligible for subsidized. moreOpen Question: Graduating in May and realizing I hate my major.?
I am graduating in May with a masters degree in finance. Its bad enough that the current economy means if I actually get a job it probably won't pay enough to pay off all my student loans and credit card debt. As I'm getting older and seeing all the problems in this world I really want to do something to help. I don't think being a stockbroker will ever give me a chance to make this world a better place. While I was sitting in the sophisticated finance lab at my school I realized that every business student in that room with me will never cure cancer...in fact we will never even try. We all went to school for four years to try to figure out how to make money...which only a few people actually do(and the ones that do are usually the ones with the well to do parents that get them a job at Morgan Stanley...something I do not have). We will never try to make a product that actually improves someones quality of life, we will just try to make money when someone else makes that invention. Not that the world doesn't need some bankers or traders but certainly not as many as colleges are pumping out nowadays. It depresses me that most of America's problems in the last few decades have economic links which are caused by unscrupulous businessmen looking to make a buck. Obviously the current crisis on Wall Street is a great example. And this is what I've been striving for, the chance to wear a dark suit, white shirt and red tie, work 100 hours per week, make $300k a year plus bonus, and live a comfortable life. It took me untill now to realize this isn't what I want to do which i suppose is better then realizing it after working for 30 years but still I cant exactly change majors now that I'm 23 and finishing my masters degree. Also with all the debt Ive collected paying for this education I cant just join the peace corp and try to make a difference. The reality is I need a career that will allow me to survive financially and my degree is in finance so thats probably where Im going to end up. So I guess my specific question is what can I do with a degree in Finance that is actually honorable and might make the world a better place to live? My general question is what can i do with my life to help others?...not talking about something like volunteering at a soup kitchen for an hour or something...Im talking about doing something with my entire life that will benefit mankind. moreOpen Question: No money for college? Student loans for tuition and living expenses?
This fall i will be attending either the university of houston or the university of texas san antonio (utsa). regardless of the school, im in a bind for money. my parents were going to help play but after the economy went to hell they lost all their investments and stocks and really have no money so they cant. I'll have around 4 grand saved by the fall but thats not nearly enough. can i take out student loans to pay for my tuition and living expenses. if so, is this a good idea? Another important part is im only going to these school for about 2 years to get the basics done then i'll be going to film school at UT Austin which is going to be even more expensive down the road. As far as scholarship or financial aid goes i might be able to get some but nothing huge unless they give u alot if your SAT score is high. Any advice or personal experience is greatly appreciated. moreOpen Question: If I have a loan that has claim paid on it will it cause not to get any school loans its from astrive?

I'm in college now. I like it, but honestly I'm kind of bored with my life. I'm not 100% sure what career I want, but there are many different things I'm interested in. I thought about joining the AF after I finish this next semester... mostly because I want to feel a sense of purpose, career and life experience, adventure and financial convenience (not to get rich, but at least I don't need loans to join the AF). I'm female, 19... what should I know. The thought excites, yet somewhat intimidates me. Thanks! moreResolved Question: How can I delay my student loan repayment?

My family doesn't have much money, I'd like to apply for financial aid but my grades have always been attrocious, and GPA seems to be a major factor when applying for grants, scolarships, etc. I did get a 30 on my ACT though. Are there any additional options, or do I just take out a loan and deal with some massive debt? moreOpen Question: I don't know what to do...what would you/did you do?
I'm so stressed about paying for college. I'm about to finish my Associates at a Junior College near where I live, and I'm wanting to transfer to a 4 year to get my Bachelor's. But I've applied and applied for scholarships, with no luck. I'm terrified of taking out loans because I'm afraid that once I get that Bachelor's Degree and have to worry about paying the loan off, I won't be able to get a job fast enough in order to afford loan payments as well as other living expenses. I'm so stressed out and really worried...any advice as to what you would do--or for those of you who have already been in this spot, what you have done--would really be appreciated. moreOpen Question: depaul or roosevelt for college?

Currently enlisted in U.S. Navy Sea-bees (construction battalion) and am working on transferring to four year college for construction management at the end of my enlistment. Considering two schools in Mass; Fitchburg state college, and Wentworth Institute of technology. Fitchburg is an accredited college but their construction technology program is not accredited through ACCE (american council of construction education). On the other hand Wentworth's program is accredited through them. Is accreditation something that is really sought after or just a selling tactic for the more expensive schools? I ask because my G.I. Bill will completely cover Fitchburg where as if I went to Wentworth I would need additional loans and/or scholarships. Would the extra money be worth it? Thanks in advance. moreOpen Question: I need help with Math Question ?

Not sure what the benefit would be with either. I live in Massachusetts, have a college loan I'm paying back, some IRAs and 401ks too. We own a house and some stock - FYI. moreResolved Question: Can I apply for student loans while Im receiving FAFSA?
Hi everyone! Ok I just finished my first semester at Community College and got financial aid (FAFSA). I was wondering if I could still apply for student loans for personal expenses. Maybe a loan of $2000 not more, but I am also wondering if this would affect my FAFSA...I am a full student and had to quit my job due to my school shedule. And right now with this economy, its geting really difficult to find a part-time job...and one that is willing to work with my school schedule. Thanks for the help! moreOpen Question: I'm unemployed with no job prospects in sight, and in two weeks will have no place to live. Advice?
Northern California - I'm a college grad (with a few years of post-college professional experience) who's come across some bad luck. On January 1st, I'll be kicked out of my parents house and need to find a place to live. Problem is, my unemployment runs out in two months, and no one wants to take on a roommate who isn't employed, yet enough someone who likely will not be able to meet their financial obligations. In further depth, my financial obligations include student loans, a car payment and insurance, the latter two because my previous job required reliable transportation and my previous car couldn't muster. Unfortunately, I can't sell my car as I owe about $2,500 more than its worth. It's a hatchback, so I sleeping in it would be tough ;-). I have barely any credit card debt ($100ish, reason x-mas gifts). I'm currently working under the table to supplement my unemployment, but the extra work only adds a few bucks here and there. I also cashed out my 401k so I can make a deposit on my new place. Generally, I'm pretty frugal. With those obligations in mind, I'd have to put a good chunk of my finances on CC when I move out. But that's if I find a place...where can I move if no one will take me in? Also, any F-it-and-hit-the-road ideas (with some practicality) are welcome. Granted, I have a few $ obligations tying me down, but am willing to do anything to survive, and hopefully lead a fulfilling life again. I'm a little lost, hope you can make sense of my rambling and provide some constructive advice... moreOpen Question: which companies lend with high debt to income ratio?
i have a 55% dti and i want to get a mortgage on a property i own outright, but i can't find a company that will lend it. my debt is high because of the college i went to and i want to put the high interest student loans into a lower rate mortgage. i tried countrywide, chase, and wachovia and they said the dti was too high. what places will lend to someone in my situation? moreOpen Question: How can I build my credit if I can't get a credit card or car loan?
I recently graduated from College, and was in need of a new(er) car so I went to two different dealerships to try and get a car. They each ran my credit at like 3-4 different places, and I was rejected from every one. (Keep in mind this was in the late summer when the banks were in the process of going under.) I have only had a credit card shared that was shared with my parents, I rarely used it, and I don't think it applied to my credit. I applied to Chase and Capital One and was rejected even though I applied for poor/decent credit score cards. AND I'm debt free... So my questions are, how can I get a credit card or small car loan if I don't have much credit? How long will it take for those credit checks to go off my record? And can I do my own credit check online without being penalized (again) for it? Thanks! moreOpen Question: Bad college situation. Really need advice please!?
So here's my story: I've been going to a community college for about a year and half. Although I was passing some of my classes, I withdrew from a majority of them. About half way through the last semester, I decided that I wanted to just drop out and find another route to my aimed career since college wasn't exactly necessary. However, I am now changing my mind and realized what my true passion is. Now here's where the problem stands. I still owe the school money that I currently don't have. I've obviously been put on financial aid probation. I'm about to lose my job because the place is closing and have a few bills too pay including two credit debts that need to be taken care of. The bills aren't too bad since I'll be making 200 a month without my job, but I still don't have money save for school. The way I see it I can either take time off until I do have the money or get a loan if that's still possible. But how does that work when I transfer? By the way, I am most definitely taking my education seriously this time around. And I am a smart person, I just make horrible decisions at times. But anyway, sorry for the long explanation, but I'm in dire need of advice.I meant financial aid suspension not probation. moreOpen Question: Anyone have Real advice for using a 25,00$ loan for college or starting a business or investing in a business?
I am not sure what to do here with the job market looking so bleak. I have been looking for all kinds of employment and there really is not much out there to make a living to raise a family at, without a Bachelors degree at the least. I have seen that starting your own business is a crap shoot too. I was hoping there might be someone with some expertise in this area. No MLM offers though please. moreOpen Question: How can I pay for my Off Campus housing?
Hi! I'm moving to San Fran. from NYC to study directing at a great college. Now there is just a little issue. The school is located in the heart of San Francisco's Financial District and apartments there very expensive. For example a studio apartment is $1700. So I guess my question is how can I pay for that off campus apartment? I know that my financial aid will work with the loans that the school will work to get for me. but what about the housing? Is there a loan I can get as a student to pay for my OWN expenses? And pay it off after I graduate? Thank you!* The college will get me a loan for my TUITION but not for my off campus housing, is what i meant to say. * moreOpen Question: Where can I apply for a student loan?
I am on christmas break right now and before I left campus, I asked my Fin. Aid adviser if she could give me a list of any site or bank that gives loans so I could apply over break. Yet every single one I tried has either stopped giving out loans because of the economy or is making it mandatory to have a co-signer (which I can't do because I'm the only person in my family with good credit history and none of my friends can co-sign right now). I have all the grants and scholarships I can get and am still thousands of dollars short (my school's tuition ranges from 36K-40K). Plus I have to have thousands of dollars extra to make up for a semester I missed because of a medical leave.(And because of my completed credits and my school's policy, I HAVE to make that semester up at a 4-year college and not a community one, so it will be like paying for an entire semester again) So yeah are there any places that still give out loans and allow applications without co-signers? I wish I could find more scholarships..I remember back in HS, all the counselors went on and on about how easy scholarships are to get because they have them for anything. Yet I graduate and all those "easy" "weird" scholarships tend to be for small schools that no one has ever heard of lol. moreTop College Loan Links
